On-demand metrology and first-article inspection service: CMM, optical, and CT measurement plus inspection reports for shops without their own lab
Is the demand real?
Swiss medtech and aerospace-supply parts demand documented dimensional inspection (first-article inspection, FAI, and PPAP-style reports), and smaller shops often cannot justify a CHF 200,000 coordinate-measuring machine or a CT scanner. Real demand exists for outsourced inspection, especially CT scanning for internal features. But the buyers who need certified inspection most are exactly the ones already buying their own equipment, and the entry cost is brutal, which caps the score.
Growing or fading?
Inspection requirements in regulated industries are steady and tightening, but precision-measurement equipment is getting cheaper, so more shops bring it in-house. The outsourced-service window is real but not obviously expanding.
